The Wish Foundation - Lowest Unique Bid Auctions

How Merlin's Auctions Work

Merlin's Wish Foundation - lowest unique bid auctions differ from conventional auctions in that the lowest unique bid wins our auctions. Individual bids are placed in whole pence, and the idea is to place low bids so that one will be unique when the auction ends. Every time you place a bid we give you one of the following three responses:

  1. Yours is the lowest unique bid. If your bid remains the lowest unique, which means that no other bidder places a bid of the same amount, you will win the auction prize when it closes.
  2. Yours is a unique bid, but not the lowest. All bids that are lower than yours, and unique, must be underbid by you.
  3. Your bid is not unique. Any bid amount that receives two or more bids cannot win an auction.

Example lowest unquie bid

Our auctions are not games of chance, they are reverse auctions requiring a degree of skill and judgment to win – that’s why we respond to every bid you place with a bid status response as detailed in 1, 2 and 3 above.

Its this simple really, if one of your bids is the lowest and unique when an auction closes you will win and your prize will be delivered to any UK address registered by you in our members area.
